Ingredients

Main Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Optional Add-ins:
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter for extra richness

Equipment

  • Large skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

Step 1. Season Chicken
  1. Season chicken with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2. Sear Chicken
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
Step 3. Sauté Garlic
  1. In the same pan, add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4. Make Sauce
  1. Pour in balsamic vinegar and honey. Stir and bring to a simmer.
Step 5. Reduce Sauce
  1. Let the sauce cook for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 6. Cook Chicken in Sauce
  1. Return chicken to the pan. Spoon sauce over it and cook for 5–7 minutes until chicken is fully cooked.
Step 7. Finish
  1. Optional: stir in butter for extra richness and add herbs or tomatoes.
Step 8. Serve
  1. Serve hot, drizzled with the balsamic glaze.

Notes

  • Use good-quality balsamic vinegar for best flavor.
  • Do not overcook chicken to keep it tender and juicy.
  • Let the sauce reduce properly for a thicker glaze.
  • Add a splash of water or broth if sauce becomes too thick.
  • Chicken thighs can be used for a juicier result.
