Step 1. Preheat the Oven
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Step 2. Mash the Bananas
- Place ripe bananas in a bowl and mash them with a fork until mostly smooth.
Step 3. Mix Wet Ingredients
- Add melted butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Stir until well combined.
Step 4. Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 5. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir gently until just combined.
Step 6. Add Optional Mix-Ins
- Fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
Step 7. Bake the Bread
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 8. Cool and Serve
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack before slicing.
