Step 1. Preheat Oven
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan.
Step 2. Mash Bananas
- Mash ripe bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth.
Step 3. Mix Wet Ingredients
- Add applesauce, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Step 4. Combine Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Step 5. Mix Batter
- Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
Step 6. Add Optional Mix-ins
- Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
Step 7. Transfer to Pan
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Step 8. Bake
- Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 9. Cool and Serve
- Let cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
