Ingredients
  

  • 2 –3 ripe bananas mashed
  • 1/2 cup applesauce unsweetened preferred
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Optional:
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips

Method
 

Step 1. Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a loaf pan.
Step 2. Mash Bananas
  1. Mash ripe bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth.
Step 3. Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. Add applesauce, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Step 4. Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
Step 5. Mix Batter
  1. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined.
Step 6. Add Optional Mix-ins
  1. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
Step 7. Transfer to Pan
  1. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
Step 8. Bake
  1. Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 9. Cool and Serve
  1. Let cool for 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
