Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage chopped
  • ½ cup uncooked rice
  • 1 can 15 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Step 1. Cook the Beef
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
Step 2. Add Aromatics
  1. Add diced onion and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
Step 3. Add Tomato Base
  1. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute. Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth, stirring to combine.
Step 4. Add Cabbage and Rice
  1. Add chopped cabbage and uncooked rice to the pot. Stir well.
Step 5. Season the Soup
  1. Add paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix to combine.
Step 6. Simmer
  1. Bring the soup to a simmer and cook for 25–30 minutes until cabbage is tender and rice is fully cooked.
Step 7. Serve
  1. Serve hot, optionally garnished with fresh herbs.
