Ingredients
  

  • 2 ripe bananas mashed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional

Method
 

Step 1. Prep the Pan and Oven
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Step 2. Mash the Bananas
  1. Mash bananas in a bowl until mostly smooth with a few small lumps.
Step 3. Mix the Wet Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.
Step 4. Add the Bananas
  1. Stir mashed bananas into the wet mixture until evenly incorporated.
Step 5. Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
Step 6. Build the Batter
  1. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.
Step 7. Fold in Mix-Ins
  1. Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using.
Step 8. Bake
  1. Spread batter evenly in the pan. Bake for 28–32 minutes until the center is set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Step 9. Cool and Slice
  1. Cool completely before lifting out and slicing into bars.
