Crockpot BBQ Ribs

Ingredients
  

  • 3 –4 lb pork baby back ribs or spare ribs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • cups barbecue sauce

Equipment

  • Crockpot / Slow Cooker
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring spoons

  • Baking sheet (optional, for broiling)

Method
 

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if still attached.
  2. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Rub the seasoning evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Cut ribs into sections if needed and place them inside the crockpot.
  5. Pour barbecue sauce over the ribs, coating them well.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until ribs are very tender.
  7. Optional: Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra BBQ sauce, and broil for 3–5 minutes to caramelize the surface.
  8. Serve hot with additional barbecue sauce if desired.

  • Baby back ribs cook faster than spare ribs
  • Broiling adds texture but is optional
