Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients:
  • lbs beef flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons oil
For the Sauce:
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger optional
For the Vegetables:
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 onion sliced

Method
 

Step 1. Prepare Beef
  1. Slice beef into thin strips and toss with cornstarch until evenly coated.
Step 2. Sear Beef (Optional)
  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and lightly brown the beef for extra flavor.
Step 3. Add to Crockpot
  1. Transfer beef to the slow cooker.
Step 4. Prepare Sauce
  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, garlic, brown sugar, and ginger.
Step 5. Cook
  1. Pour sauce over the beef. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
Step 6. Add Vegetables
  1. Add sliced bell peppers and onion about 1 hour before cooking is done.
Step 7. Thicken Sauce (Optional)
  1. If needed, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes.
Step 8. Serve
  1. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
