  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste

  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. (Optional but recommended) Heat a skillet over medium heat and lightly brown the ground turkey until just cooked. Drain excess liquid.

  3. Stir gently to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chili is thick and flavorful.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.

Notes

Browning turkey adds extra depth but can be skipped for a dump-and-go version
Mash some beans to naturally thicken the chili
Add sour cream or Greek yogurt for a creamy finish
Chili tastes even better the next day
