Method
- Place raw ground beef + ½ cup water in cold skillet → break up with spoon.
- Turn heat to medium → cook 8–10 min while constantly mashing beef until super fine (no chunks).
- Drain excess fat if desired (traditional recipes keep it).
- Add all remaining ingredients → stir well.
- Simmer on low 10–15 min, stirring often → sauce thickens and flavors deepen.
- Taste → adjust salt/sugar/heat.
- Spoon generously over hot dogs → top with onions, mustard, or slaw.
