  • 1 cup all-purpose flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning

Method
 

Step 1. Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2. Prepare Spinach
  1. Cook fresh spinach or thaw frozen spinach. Squeeze out all excess moisture and chop finely.
Step 3. Make Dough
  1. In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, spinach, flour, baking powder, salt, and optional seasonings. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Step 4. Shape Flagels
  1. Divide dough into equal portions and shape into flat rounds. Create a small hole in the center if desired.
Step 5. Add Toppings
  1. Sprinkle sesame seeds or seasoning on top if using.
Step 6. Bake
  1. Bake for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden and set.
Step 7. Cool Slightly
  1. Allow to cool for a few minutes before handling.
Step 8. Serve
  1. Serve warm or toast before serving.

Notes

  • Remove excess moisture from spinach to avoid sticky dough.
  • Add flour gradually if dough feels too wet.
