Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 226g unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup 150g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups 250g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Optional:
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk if dough is too thick for piping
  • Sprinkles or coarse sugar for topping

Method
 

Step 1. Preheat Oven
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2. Cream Butter and Sugar
  1. In a bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
Step 3. Add Egg and Vanilla
  1. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
Step 4. Add Dry Ingredients
  1. Gradually add flour and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Step 5. Adjust Dough (if needed)
  1. If piping, add 1–2 tbsp milk to soften the dough slightly.
Step 6. Shape Cookies
  1. Pipe or scoop the dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
Step 7. Bake
  1. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until edges turn lightly golden.
Step 8. Cool
  1. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
